Automatic Workouts
Automatic workouts deliver a guided experience with app-prepared routines, structured timing, and predefined pressure targets for each phase.
Suction Mode controls how aggressively the pump motor builds vacuum and the maximum pressure a pump exercise is allowed to reach. In automatic workouts, supported pump exercises can carry their own Suction Mode from the routine created in the SmartTract mobile app, so different pump exercises in the same routine may use different suction settings.
Starting an Automatic Workout
Suction Mode in Automatic Workouts
When a routine is created in the SmartTract mobile app, each supported pump exercise can include its own Suction Mode. SmartTract Go uses that saved setting during the workout and shows the current Suction Mode on screen when that exercise supports it.
Supported Exercise Types
| Menu | Description |
|---|---|
| Static Pump | Standard continuous suction cycling between two pressure levels |
| Pulsating Pump | Reactive pulsing - motor oscillates to create rhythmic pressure waves |
| Rapid Interval | Fast full pump-up / full release cycles within the vacuum phase |
| Adv Rapid Interval | Multi-level cycling between high and low pressure with configurable hold times |

Other Exercises
These exercises are performed by hand or with other devices and accessories rather than by the SmartTract pump system itself. For these modes, SmartTract Go helps by guiding the session with on-screen timing, countdowns, and workout tracking.

Pump Modes In Detail
All pump exercises alternate between a Vacuum phase (suction active) and a Release phase (pressure reduced). Each routine configures the duration and target pressure individually for each phase. For example, the Vacuum phase can be set to 8 inHg while the Release phase is set to 2 inHg. Setting the Release phase above 1 inHg can help hold the cylinder in place and support hands-free operation. The key difference is how the device behaves during the Vacuum phase.
Static Pump
The motor pumps continuously until the target pressure is reached, then holds steady for the configured Vacuum Time. The device actively maintains pressure within a tight band - if pressure drops, the motor restarts; if it overshoots, a small release corrects it. When Vacuum Time expires, the solenoid valve opens and pressure drops to the Release level for the Release Time.
What you feel: Steady, constant suction that ramps up, holds, drops, and repeats.
Pulsating Pump
Instead of maintaining a steady hold, Pulsating Pump gently varies pressure around the Vacuum target to create a more dynamic sensation throughout the Vacuum phase. This produces a rhythmic pulsing feel while still following the programmed Vacuum and Release phases.
What you feel: A smooth, wave-like pulsation around the selected target rather than a flat, constant hold.
Rapid Interval Pump
During the Vacuum phase, Rapid Interval creates a fast repeating pulse pattern rather than a steady hold. Pressure rises and eases in quick succession, giving the workout a more energetic rhythm before returning to the programmed Release phase.
What you feel: A smooth, wave-like pulsation around the selected target rather than a flat, constant hold.
Advanced Rapid Interval Pump
ARIP delivers a more layered pulsing experience by moving through a multi-stage pressure pattern during the Vacuum phase. Instead of staying at one level, it transitions between a stronger feel and a lighter feel before repeating the sequence and then moving into the programmed Release phase.
-
Build - Pressure rises toward the stronger level
-
Upper Hold - The stronger level is maintained briefly
-
Ease Down - Pressure transitions toward a lighter level
-
Lower Hold - The lighter level is maintained before the cycle repeats
What you feel: A smooth, wave-like pulsation around the selected target rather than a flat, constant hold.

Suction Mode
Sets the pump intensity for pump workouts. Suction Mode affects how aggressively the motor builds vacuum and also applies a matching pressure cap. Manual workouts use the on-device setting, while automatic routines can apply app-defined Suction Modes for supported pump exercises.
Tip: The max pressure for Starter and Medium modes can be customized via the mobile app.
| Mode | Default Max | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Start | 8.0 inHg | Gentler vacuum response with a lower pressure cap |
| Medium | 12.0 inHg | Stronger vacuum response with a higher pressure cap |
| Full | 17.0 inHg | Most aggressive vacuum response with the highest available pressure cap |
